Another vote for Cuprinol, Chris. I buy whichever shade is going cheap at the time and our hives don't merge into the background at all.

the correx idea is an interesting one. Sadly I have to many hives to make that practical. It appears Cuprinol has the thumbs up. Does any one use a spray gun to apply it and does it need watering down?
