Abelo Poly Configuration

Last year I took all the blocks out of the vents in the crown boards of my Abelo poly hives. I was amazed considering it was the hottest summer for 40 years and the roof is unventilated that the bees propilised to the MAX every vent. They preferred to fan from the entrance although over an open mesh floor. You never can tell with bees

They often propolise those grills beneath the insets even if they are in...not always....(bees for you !) but enough to suggest that it might be the gaps in the grills that merits the propolisation...
