Try and find a copy of Plants and Beekeeping by F.N.Howes....it's a bit of a bible, although I believe there is another similar book that has pictures as well...but can't remember name of.

Several copies around on ebay and ABE books...the one at your link seems to have gone. Maybe Jazz has already ordered his copy?
All excellent value.

Another good old 'un with major nectar plants and drawings of their pollen is by G Hayes, "Nectar producing plants and their pollen". it's only 110 pages and paperback but well worth looking out for, particularly if you are into pollen ....as it shows drawings of pollen grains before or after they have been honey...which is something all the other pollen books neglect.

2nd one is very old...1925, copies don't come up that often...and it measures pollen sizes in fractions of inches....like 1 1/4 of a 1000th of an inch...

I’ve looked for it through Overdrive, the library app, and couldn’t find it to borrow. I’ve been interrupted, but if I find more links, I’ll post them.

Cheers Adam - I've just bought the hard copy of that from ebay. The second one Nigel recommended is proving difficult to source.
A brief look on Amazon books didn't turn up with many alternatives that grabbed my attention.

I'm sure the first book will see me through. I have some bee biology books to get too so I'll be reading for a while.

Back to the main topic - bees are loving Cotoneaster and Pyracantha.

The brambles well and truly in flower. I've also seen thistle, white and red clover out in flower today.
