Do you mean 1:1 water to sugar?
Fondant ratio is only 1:3 water/sugar by comparison
How much are you making anyway - I did 20 litres on Sunday morning before breakfast with a big pan and a wooden spoon-and didnt need to clean a pump...
Hornet, I don’t know the volumes of syrup you need but if you already own a mains drill, a cheap plaster paddle for under a tenner from the usual building suppliers will happily mix heavy syrup in a couple of minutes.
Ok chaps I'm trying to make 2:1 syrup and the pumps I've tried overheat a trip out. what am I doing wrong?
Is 2:1 with sugar unachievable and I should aim lower? If so, whats your sweet spot [pun intended]
My pump trips out too - I put the water in first then add sugar (About 15 litres of water to 25 kg of sugar) - but not all the sugar at once as otherwise it will turn to a paste and be difficult to circulate.
