Ahh, your right, the inner ones don't.
An update on the sugar blocks. They worked really well. I stick them above the frames and bees worked them.
An odd thing happened with the ones I put into the Miller feeder, the bits that didn't get eaten, some of them turned to mush, I assume this was the moisture in the hive. So being brick hard certainly wasn't an issue
The awkward thing with them is making them and drying them off. But hey ho.
