With all the excitement around covid-19 at the moment I wondered if it will effect beekeeping any where around the world.

Here are three web articles that popped up.

Beekeepers in China not being able to access their colonies due to movement restrictions. I do wonder how something like this would effect me in Spring if something similar happened here?

According to the daily star, people are stock piling Manuka honey. IMO local honey is just as good 👍🏻. I have plenty available.

I guess, for group meetings, veils would reduce the transmission of sneezes? For me, an international trade-show in London that was due to take place later this month has been postponed until December.

I do enjoy going to the field (my out apiary) where there is no one about, so it's safe from the virus. ;)

I was in Asda on Friday and it looked like a bomb site - and almost no pasta left!

The Lincolnshire beekeepers have their AGM on Sunday, I am waiting to hear if that gets postponed and I have stack of talks booked - and a hotel booked for one coming later in the month that is not-refundable!
I don't under-estimate the seriousness of this virus but shutting everything down is surely going to create huge financial crisis and ultimately won't stop the virus spreading. So whilst quarantining areas would smooth out the load on the NHS, what does that achieve if there is no economy left afterwards to pay for the NHS :?:
