A giant hive was removed from a woman's house in Brisbane, Australia.

The ten-month-old hive weighed 50kg and was holding 60,000 bees.

Thats a fair old cut out..

Incidentally, why does my pedantic mind find it so disproportionately irritating when wild or feral colonies of bees are referred to as hives? A hive is not the collective noun of bees, its the human made container they are sometimes kept in. I strongly doubt the Australian lady considered her house as a huge hive.

I passed a bungalow of people today looking at a field being grazed by barns of cows.
