I've been very lucky and have been given a colony by a mate in work that is very strong . Trouble is they are in an Apipol hive and are absolutely crammed, capped drone brood in top super and collecting on the outside of hive in the day . Trouble is I have no Apipol supers only National , could I put on a National and plug any gaps with timber . I am away this weekend and I feel if the weather is right they will swarm . It may be that my friend turns up with a super for me but if he is not able to I will in a tizz.

Yup, get what you can on and fill gaps with gaffa tape/ wood or whatever.
They sound as thought they needed room yesterday!

With swarming, a bit of panic is often better than a shed load of complacency! :D
