Hello again!

I’m starting to think bees like me. Earlier in the summer we had some huge, fluffy bees hanging out in the roof/gutter, then some ivy mining bees took up residence in the back garden and now there seem to be a fair few going in and out of some pampas grass... sorry it’s a terrible picture, they wouldn’t stay still! Any ideas on species and whether they’ll be ok hanging out in the pampas with kids and dogs around?

Thanks!

Sarah

I don't know what type they are; I am sure they know what they are doing and it's unlikely that dogs or children will take much interest so they should all be fine.

Sarah- that looks a tad like a wasp to me. It will soon be dead if it doesn’t get a hive to rob! Just a thought, does pampas grass exude honeydew?
Steve.

Agree most likely a wasp with yellow/black stripes might be a ground dweller or nest.
