We are now in Tier 4 in my area. Does anyone know if there is any change in the law ( not guidance ) with regard to attending out apiaries or is it the same law as laid down in October ?

Cheers, Mick.

Not sure what was laid down in Oct, but previous legislation allowed beekeepers to attend and mange their livestock.
Never seen so little traffic on roads at that time.....now, despite all the lockdowns it's madness out there.

I carry my bbk a certificate ,some hive records and suit/smoker in the van in case I get stopped.
If it was taken that seriously by the authorities they'd have army checkpoints by now.
We've had hordes of welsh coming over the border on booze runs too with no-one ever being challenged.
I'd argue the view of being allowed to attend to your bees -I'm sure DEFRA would consider it an obligation...

My guess is that the rules haven't changed; livestock needs to be looked after.

I carry plenty of bee kit in the car as well for the same reason. fondant, suit, vape and other random bits

As mentioned Livestock needs tending to regardless of what kind..and to keep within the law when doing pest control.. wink wink..traps need checking every 24hr's..

From what I've interpreted this morning on R4 newshour we're rapidly heading for another national lockdown ....

As my next door neighbours have now tested positive and I know several others who have come down with it (two with sad outcomes) we have effectively been locked down anyway.

Going to sort out my bees is probably the lowest risk activity I can think of and does much good for mental health to boot. I am still going a bit dippy lala but I know I am hardly alone in that.. 🤪
